Cindy McCain Grand Marshal at Charlotte Motor Speedway for NASCAR race

The McCain campaign has scheduled another NASCAR appearance, this time in North Carolina, according to Fox News.

Cindy McCain plans to serve as grand marshal at the NASCAR Bank of America 500 in Concord, N.C., on Saturday.

Cindy and John McCain last hit up a NASCAR track in mid-September, when they chatted with racing stars and fans at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway. McCain won New Hampshire in the GOP primary, but polls show Barack Obama now well ahead in the state.

In North Carolina, a traditionally Republican state, Obama has also been gaining ground on McCain in the polls, some of which show the Democratic candidate leading by a few points.

Cindy McCain's appearance Saturday will be at the Lowe's Motor Speedway.

(Cindy, make sure to say hello to my favorite driver, 2-time defending NASCAR Champion # 48 Jimmie Johnson-ed.)
